Through out the novel "Fried Green Tomatoes..." by author Fannie Flagg it is visible that there is a KKK presence in both Whistle Stop and the outside world. Many key moments in the story revolve around the KKK and their presence, from officer Grady's membership in the KKK, to the KKK members who come with Frank from Georgia for Ruth. The main timeline in this story, from the 1920's to the 1940's, is the same as the main historical timeline of the KKK, from both rise and fall of the second generation. The KKK's largest and most determined group's were all present in the southern U.S., in the same state that the novel takes place in, that being Alabama.
